무엇인가
USACO는 고등학생이 온라인으로 푸는 알고리즘 프로그래밍 대회다. 한 시즌에 콘테스트가 여러 번 열린다. 정해진 시간 안에 알고리즘과 자료구조로 문제를 풀고, 짠 코드를 채점 시스템에 제출한다. 사람이 아니라 자동 채점기가 바로 채점한다. 단계는 Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum 넷이다. 콘테스트에서 기준 점수를 넘기면 다음 단계로 올라간다. 운영은 미국 학생을 국제정보올림피아드(IOI) 같은 국제 대회 대표로 뽑고 훈련시키는 교육 단체가 맡는다.

What it is
USACO is an online algorithm contest for high school students. Each season runs several contests. You solve algorithm and data-structure problems inside a fixed time window and submit your code to a judge that grades it automatically, no human reviewer. There are four divisions: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum. Clear the scoring bar in a contest and you move up. For Korean students
Students in Korea can compete. The regular-season contests don't care where you live and run over the internet, so you take them on your own computer in Korea. There's no entry fee. Why it matters for admissions
