무엇인가

글로벌 청소년 환경 에세이 대회는 중고등학생이 환경과 기후 위기를 주제로 영어 에세이를 써서 내는 국제 대회다. 주최는 Education Association for Software Empowerment(EASE)다. 매년 새 환경 주제를 내걸고, 학생이 직접 쓴 에세이를 온라인으로 받는다. 참가 대상은 미국 학제 7~12학년, 또는 이에 해당하는 학년의 학생이다.

What it is

The Global Youth Environmental Essay Competition is an international contest where middle and high school students write English essays about the environment and the climate crisis. It's run by the Education Association for Software Empowerment (EASE). Each year EASE sets a new environmental theme and takes essays online that students write themselves. It's open to students in grades 7 through 12 in the U.S. system, or the equivalent grade elsewhere.

For Korean students

Korean students can enter. The competition doesn't filter by nationality or where you live. If you're in grades 7-12 (or the equivalent) in the U.S. system, you can apply. Past editions listed the deadline in Korea Standard Time, so the contest clearly has Korean and Asian students on its radar. In Korean terms that's 중1 through 고3. The student writes the essay in English and submits it through the official online portal. International schools, foreign schools, accredited schools, unaccredited schools, homeschoolers · all eligible as long as the grade fits. Why it matters for admissions

It's a way to show you can think through environmental and climate questions on the page, and that you care about the subject. It won't promise an admissions result.
